Good afternoon...Max Merritt 317-736-6233 is another place to try. Also Patrician Industries 313-565-3573. As well as John Ulrich Packard Parts 510-223-9587. If these guys cant help you, they will hand you off to someone who can. Ernie

Good Morning all...That Packard is beautiful...For me it is extremely hard for me to blame the Packard for the people who rode in it. I do hope someone purchases it to drive!Ernie

Good afternoon...We did this with a local aluminum radiator builder in Phoenix, and the new radiator just dropped into place and bolted down tight. Works great on our 1949 288 Deluxe...Ernie

Good Evening...When I needed to purchase a new exhaust system for our 1949 288 Deluxe, I looked around and then I used a 36" Glass Pack Muffler and new pipe from Midas not far from where I live. I showed them the parts book and the design and what they installed is a pretty good copy. Ernie

Good Morning all...The Air Conditioning in the 37-120 appears to be Vintage Air or similar. Since the car is now 12 Volt, the Packard engine can turn the compressor easily. They sell Air Conditioning for Model A Fords and the little four bangers can handle the modern compressor so I doubt if a Packard Engine would even notice the extra strain...Ernie

Re: Broken stud on intake manifold

Good afternoon Officer James...That is hard luck. One way to remove the stud is to soak it well with PB Blaster or another rust loosening product and then drill out the center and use an easy out.

Another would be to soak it as above and if your have a 1/4 inch sticking out of the manifold, weld a washer to the stud and then weld a nut to the washer and put a wrench on it.

Lots of soaking first and gentle on the wrench...work the stud back and forth and it might take a couple of days of soaking and gently twisting to get it out.

Otherwise a member of a local Packard club for help, or remove the intake manifold and take it to an old machine shop with old guys working there. Good Luck...Ernie

Good afternoon Devan...You are most welcome on this site. It's great to see young people interested in Packard Automobiles.

You should register your machine in the 'Packard Owner Registry' here on the site. Mal from 'down under' will be giving you an invitation in the next few days, I'm sure.

I personally think that it is very cool that you are going to drive the old girl to High School. It will be interesting to see what the young ladies at your school think of your Packard.

Ask away we're all ready to help you.

Ernie
