George Hamlin found another '56 Packard ambulance, apparently built by Huiskamp in the Netherlands. It appears to be flying a Swedish flag:

George Hamlin dug up the photo I was looking for. HIs source says that it was Dutch. Perhaps it was in use in the Netherlands but built by D'Ieteren in Belgium.
Note that the ambulance beside the Packard is a '60 Ford.

<i>" D'Ieteren Freres "</i>

Yes! That's the company. Thank you! I couldn't remember the name - I remembered that it was a French name and thus thought the company was in Belgium, but I also had it in my head that the photo I saw of the 56 Packard ambulance had been taken in Holland. (Perhaps the photo had, in fact, been taken in Holland - it's not that far from Belgium.)

I'm still trying to locate the photo. The conversion was very nicely done - the rear was better integrated into the A-B pillar sections of the roof than the Swedish conversion shown. (That said, the Swedish conversion looks nice.)

I can't find the photo of it now to add to the discussion - but there was a very good looking '56 Packard Patrician conversion to an ambulance done by the company in Europe (Belgium? Holland?) that built both Packards and Studebakers from knock-down kits.

Bruce S., who owned and restored this '56 Four Hundred, later sold it. After a period of time, he acquired a '64 Studebaker Commander and is turning it into a "home brew" R-4:

Ah Yes! That Torsion Level ride retrofitted to those Shermans works like a charm!

Due to rain, "Packard Truck Dave" didn't take his 1918 Packard truck to Carlisle, PA last weekend to the Army Heritage & Education center. Nonetheless, he had a fine romp in the mud with Sherman tanks:
