Great pictures guys and thanks for posting. Those are some beautiful cars!

Too bad about the faulty fuel pump on the Carib. If that was the only issue on the tour I would call it a complete success!

Thanks again for sharing your experience.

Regards,
Robert.

What a fantastic way to spend the week!! Hope you both have a safe trip and post some pictures of the event. Is this the Tour that Dwight was setting up? I hope to participate in the future.

Regards,
Robert.

Bob Berg is a great guy and was a tremendous help to a bunch of us a couple of years ago by reproducing the J6065 tool.

Brian let me know if you have any trouble finding his contact information as I can dig it up through my records as well. I have not spoken to him since 2006 but he was living in Colorado at the time.

Best Regards,
Robert.

Fantastic pictures and great looking results! How did you take the body off in a home based shop? Very challenging for me just to remove the front clip. I noticed you have the six bladed fan...is yours a factory AC Carib HT?

Best Regards,
Robert.

Randy,
Thanks and great advice as always. I do not yet have the rest of the front end attached so I will wait as you suggested until the rest of the weight is back over the front end. I will begin my search for front end alignment shops and look forward to the blank stares ;)

Regards,
Robert.

Gents,

Having the frame resting on the suspension made all the difference in the world! The fender to frame holes align properly and both fenders are happily back on the Carib.
Thank you all for all the suggestions to get my project back on track.

I am now noticing the front wheels/tires have a negative camber attitude that will need to be corrected before I go much further. The Service manual describes the J-4691 adjustment tool to adjust the eccentric bushing, is there a modern day equivalent? Any tips on performing the camber adjustment?

Thanks in advance.
Robert.

Randy, Glad I could help. Although not an exact replacement, I found that my local Ace Hardware had rubber fender washers. They were about 1.75" in diameter but easily sealed the cowl hole with the flat washer.

I have not removed my antennas but took a couple pics for you this afternoon. It looks like there is rubber protruding from both the outside and inside from the original grommet. Hope this helps.

Regards,
Robert.

Is this the seal you are describing? This is what mine looked like during disassembly.

That is an interesting question and I agree with your conclusions. I found it very intersting that the newly released Danbury Mint 56 Caribbean hardtop reflects that same paint scheme. It is an MES hardtop and the portion under the blinker light is Danube Blue. And yes, I do have the original steel wheels and they are as you described, danube blue and black on the inside.
