Thank you for all of the information everyone!
The driver's door post and glovebox have both been checked. The only numbers still visible on the post are 5748 2085. I know that this is just the model and body number. The glovebox has been painted and can't be read. Also, the dash and convertible top braces have been painted. Is there some other way to determine the original color from a build sheet or something of the sort? The glovebox has a little green paint on the side that looks like it may be original. Is my only option to try to remove the paint from the dash and hope the original paint is still below so the color can be determined?

I haven't been able to check the codes yet, but plan to get them later today.
Some of the information that I have found seems to suggest that Caribbeans were only produced in ivory with an upper color of blue, green, red or black. However, I have seen pictures of some nice cars that are red on the lower and white on the upper and white on the lower with torquise on the top. Was this also a color scheme when Caribbeans were produced or is it a change that a later owner would have made?

Thank you very much for the information. I will check inside the door for the number you mentioned.
I think that the engine number that you mentioned is M600573, which seems to be correct according to the chart posted on this site.

1954 Caribbean questions

I am trying to determine whether a recently purchased 1954 Packard Caribbean is in original condition. The body and top are white, which does not seem correct because I believe that the body should be two-tone. The interior is mainly dark brown with some tan, but the door panels sort of have a maroon tint to them.
The cowl tag has a body # of 5478 2085. The head has 455139 stamped on it. The middle of the head has a C with an L through it. The passenger firewall has C68678 on it. The carburetor has 51532550 on it. Can anyone help me determine what these numbers mean and what the proper interior/exterior colors are? Is there an area that I can try to look this up on this or another website? Thank you for any help you can give.
