It would be nice to know who the winning bidders were that bought groups of cars assuming they're in the parts business

I'm familiar with the car but never took a good look at it. It was never restored but the owners have had it stripped and are in the process of putting a modern transmission and engine in. The shop is Horsepower Motor Works in Victor NY . Ask for Scott as he is doing the work. 585.924.9199. Hope this helps. I live about 10 minutes from the shop if I can help.

Unfortunately I think the bidders who bought multiple/groups of cars are going to part them out which is the best way to put some of these cars to use. And good for the folks that are missing parts for their projects but bad for the few cars that should really be saved i.e. the 1941 convertible sedan. We'll see what happens.

Great news Ross. First car from the auction that has been brought back to life. Hope you have rested up from your happy dance. Love to see it, any photos you want to share? We didn't get to see it since you bought before the auction.

NAPA carries it. I got some earlier this year for my 1941 Clipper. Have not run the engine yet to see how it holds up though.

You're correct about using the registration, you'll have no issue. The problem is when they say they have no paperwork they mean they have no registration. As a lifetime New Yorker I can't count he number of times this state has made it virtually impossible to register cars among collectors with out the correct paperwork.

I do have a 1941 Clipper. There is a Briggs body tag on it and it matches the vin# 1401-9417 which I'm in the process of restoring

Flackmaster, I'm aware of whose collection this is since I live in upstate NY. I assume he has either died or is sick since he has never parted with his cars before. Are you allowing people to look at the cars? My brother-in-law is into MGs and I'm into Packards although I see some nice vehicles from NYS manufacturers also. Can you give more detailed info on the Franklin and Pierce Arrow? George

Just wanted to add my two cents. Thanks Ross for the wonderful job you did for both my engine and transmission rebuild that I just picked up. They look fantastic!!! We are lucky to have such talented people available to us.
