As a clarification I did not come up with the "no right to comment." statement. The system did. Again I am sure due to my lack of typing speed. If It had gone thru It would have been my longest post by far.Took me almost an hour to type it.(bummer for me.) BHW

I am sorry but My frustration by the system I am guessing due to my long winded typing lead me to the "No right to comment." statement .Not by me but by what ever.I have made wheels before.much work.I simply cannot do this fast enough.I had a very pertinent comment. My lack of PC skills drove me away before. I see it will do so again. I am sorry.I will continue to try. Please be patient. To be blunt again I make stuff from scratch for a living. Brian

To all as a Pattern Maker/Model Maker I can give some input on this subject. However the site or my pc abilitys says I have no right to comment on this.A core exchange is very desirable here.As it is much easier to rebuild than making a new one most certainly if the old one is starting to fall apart I make replacement parts for antiuue outboards.(for 20 years.)I am very sorry if this is on the blunt side but I cant risk not having it go thru because I took to long to type it.I had you in mind Fred please dont slam me as I just don't have the typing skills to say what needs to be said in the time allotted. Dear Casey,I too have a 300. I had to lift the engine to remove the pan.I have a question for you.Have you taken the pan off before?Do you or anyone out there think your noise could be a lifter? There was 1/4 inch of sludge in my pan when I took it off.In hindsight my getting the car to the painter most likely saved my engine.I did note that if my engine oil level was at or nearer the top line (If you know what I mean.)other than in the middle, my oil light was less likely to come on.With the exception of in very hot weather.(And I had better not shut her off!)But that is not the topic here I digress. In fear for my engine after the inital pan cleaning.(And anything else I could get at.) I have continued to quick dump my oil to clean it out.(Three times.)I cant tell you the oil pressure but the light used to come on alot more often than it does now.I too thought I needed a bearing job.And I will but not yet.I use straight 30 wt.With some additive from time to time.I have not posted for some time and I am reluctant to do so here, but here it is. B

Oh, Please forgive me for my ignorance!I foolishly thought Safety was the issue regardless of the topic of this thread.Speak plainly and you wont be misunderstood.I can see protocol is more important to you.I was only trying to let people see that there are other issues,Other than the BTV, a system we all know is a piece of junk at best. But what is the difference if you kill someone with brake failure or steering failure!!!Just because you never heard of the problem doesn't mean it doesn't exist. To do so would put you in the same light as those you "smack' as you put it on the BTV.I apologize for my lack of Pc knowledge.but If "protocol" is more important to you,As it seems to be by your comments, then I pegged you correctly!Very sincerely, Brian Wilcox
