Thermostat with higher opening temperature

Has anyone replaced their thermostat with one that opens at a higher temperature, such as 180°F? It's supposed to be better for wear and prevent deposits due to the better quality of today's oils. Is there a suitable one for the 1936 Onetwenty?

I also have an overdrive in the cardan shaft. Best decision I've ever made. 2 liters less fuel consumption, 25 percent reduction in engine speed. The car is now really suitable for long journeys.

Re: electric fan for Onetwenty

Many thanks for all the information. I can drive for hours on the highway at up to 100 km/h (with overdrive) and the temperature is stable in the middle of 100-180. Only without or with little airstream does it quickly go up to 180 and more. The cooling system is ok. Constantly restarting is not a solution either. Yes, the question is where to mount the fan.

electric fan for Onetwenty

Does it make sense to add an electric fan to the Onetwenty's engine? The temperature always rises quickly during stop and go. Otherwise I have no temperature problems on long trips. I would also have enough space in the trunk for a second battery.

hood molding

Now I have to change the hood molding and the brackets for the 2nd time in 8 years. If everyone who opens the hood isn't careful, the hood molding will be bent. It no longer holds on the brackets. And this time I also have paint damage. I would now order hood molding and brackets again.

Or is there perhaps a more stable solution? Even with the Model A I think it's a better solution

Hello to Schwabenland, my tire dealer has procured the tires. The total cost was around 1,400 euros.
Viele Grüße

The garage fitted new tires today. They are exactly the same model as they were before. The problem is completely solved. The only cause was that the old tires had become too hard. There was hardly any visible ageing on the outside. Even the tire dealer couldn't find anything unusual on the rubber. But the tires were already about 20 years old.
What torque should be used to tighten the wheel nuts?

I am selling a remanufactured gearbox. The gearbox was purchased from John Ulrich. It was never used and installed by me. It was originally planned for my 36 OneTwenty. The gearbox is located in Germany. We can negotiate the price.

Thanks for the good advice. I understood the problem and can probably rule out the ignition as the cause.
