It turned out that my father and I weren't able to make it up to Warren...Our County Fair is this week and I had 4-H project judging on Saturday...It sounds like it was another great show that seems to be growing each year! Hope to make it next year.

My father and I made it to Warren in 2005 (before joining Packardinfo)...We may just have to swing by again this year.
Is everyone trying to meet on the 19th? Is that the day all the cars will be there? When we went in 05 we were told that Sunday was the big car day...

Hey, and if anyone is traveling through Ohio to get to Warren, you might want to stop here...

I'm 17 now, and my father and I started working on my great-grandfather's 1940 Packard 110 when I was 14...I was hooked! It was great having a father-son project, especially while working on a family heirloom!

I know exactly what you mean by getting, "What's a Packard?", from you friends. I use to get that too, but they all know what I'm talking about now and they like it! I guess that's one way Packard's story is going to live on. Thanks for the topic...I was beginning to think I might be the only one on here my age...

Here's another military Packard (1942) that can be seen running around Ohio. (attachment)

Sorry about the delay, but yes, that is the correct web address, I have no way of knowing if the Packard is still there. I believe it was a future project for the museum...I don't think it's for sale, but I was over joyed at least to see someone had kept such a unique/military Packard piece. Hubbard, Ohio is a little ways south of Cleveland, Ohio.

This wouldn't really fit in the pre-war or post-war categories so I hope it's fine posting it here.

Anyways, I was able to attend the Gathering of Mustangs and Legends "The Final Round Up" in September (the gathering of P-51 Mustangs that is) and as many of you all know, these magnificient fighters were powered by the Rolls Royce and Packard Merlin engines, and what a place to be, surrounded by the roar of over 100 of those Merlin engines. Anyhow, it's always bugged me to hear people refer to the Mustang as "The Cadillac of the Sky", when these birds were powered by Packard... It'll always be the P-51 "the Packard Powered Mustang" to me. (or something like that...) That engine changed a lot of things for our Army Air Corps. and played a vital roll in the WWII Allied victory. I'm just glad that Packard was able to contribute in such a way, and I wish that people had a better way to know about that history. It's sites like this that make that possible...Thanks!

Just thought it would be a neet topic to open for discussion that really is overlooked...

Thanks for moving the photos BigKev, I hope it wasn't too much of a problem. Also in the Misc. Picture page there are three pictures of the National Packard Museum, they are all the same, you can delete two, if you'ld like. I didn't mean to do that, I've been experiencing computer problems lately and the thing would freeze up each time I tried to post one...sorry.
