Thanks everyone for the info. I probably am going just to chip away at this thing for the next 2 months, as I have another project that I need to finish. After that, I will start a thread with the build up. Plans are just to make it run, drive, stop, steer, and have all of its stuff working. The last few cars I have gotten were like this. I figure, ill save the car from doom, someone else can restore it. . . .

Hey everyone. Found this site last week while doing research for a car I wanted to buy. And obviously, I bought it. Its a 53 Mayfair 2 door. Seems like a fairly solid project. I probably paid too much for it but I like it. It has the 8 in it, ultramatic, power brakes, power steering, power seats, and power windows. I met a packard guy last night at a local car show, and he told me it was a fairly rare bird. . . It has been off the road since 1965. I will be slowly chipping away at this for the next 2 months, as I have other projects that need finishing. I hope to learn alot here. Most of the guys I know are not packard guys. So I will be in here asking all sorts of questions. Here are some pics of what I am starting with.
