Didn't see 51 Packard - but asked them if they could make.
Prices were great.

51 Packard with 6 volt positive ground.
Is it possible to make/buy a device that converts 12 volts to 6 volts to use with jumper cables to jump start my Packard from a "regular" 12 volt negative ground car ? Thanks !

Packard has been in my neighbor's garage with her car outside. I think she's going to want her garage back over winter. Wife will divorce me if I get one of those aluminum carport things. Can't afford to rent a garage.
Someone suggested this: put a "tan flannel" cover over car and then put a waterproof & vented cover over flannel. The idea is the outer cover will protect elements, and the flannel interim cover will protect paint from "cover abrasions". http://www.carcoverusa.com/Tan-Flannel-Car-Cover.html Thanks for all the help !

Outdoor Packard winter storage

Looking for tips / guidance on storing my Packard outdoors all winter (I live in Delaware). Long story, but I am "garage challenged".
If I use an outdoor cover, will the paint get abraded as the cover moves with the wind ? Do I want the cover really tight ? Loose ? Vented ? This would be on gravel/grass. Is there any system to use talc or something to create slip between cover and paint ? Maybe this is nuts, anyone ever shrink-wrap a car (like they do boats) ? I'm investigating a bunch of storage possibilities - some have a carport roof. The car's a driver - but I'd hate to mar / damage over winter. Appreciate any thoughts or weblinks - thanks !!!

The battery tenders I have made by Schumacher are max 1 1/2 amp output and says it monitors voltage and turns off when max charge is reached and will turn on again when voltage drops more than 1 volt. I think I have this same "charger" (MC-1). Sounds like it is a tender and charger. I use $8 tenders from Harbor Freight for my 12 volt batteries (harbor freight charger) They work great for tractor, Tbird, boat, and Harley that I have.

I switched the battery cables to positive ground and polarized the generator. WORKS !!!!
I have a 6v trickle/float charger - would like to connect to battery when car is sitting. Question: Can I connect this charger to battery with battery in car ? I think answer is "yes". I don't know if the charger is expecting or requiring the attached battery to be negative ground or not. Thanks for your help !
