Hi Alll
Wired question of the day did packard change to 12 volt systems when they came out with the new v-8's? I'm not real sure what my 1951 henney senior has as that i found both 6 and 12 volt as well as 110 coverter. I pretty sure the car was still 12volt but when they put the newer bigger butter v-8 in did they change things. Has anybody went to straight 12volt and changed all of the 6volt out. I've found a local place where i can have the whole cab/body dipped and all rust and paint gone its a 3 part process and the last one is a rust inhabitor.

Thanks Tony

I was thinking the same thing adding dual 4bl carbs. I'm pretty sure it's an automatic.

Sorry guys it is a packard v-8. My thoughts is as long as I stay packard i'm staying true to my car. I can in vision what happened the fire dept in wash wanted more power and that new v-8 came out from packard and they repowered. I would love to find the true history on my packard but all I have is a bill of sale from the man I bought it on ebay from. Tony

I know this may upset some but can i have facts of the advantages of going chevy motor verse rebuilding my 55 chevy v-8 in my 51 henney. I ran into a local old car buff and his argument was pretty good on going chevy related to cheaper and easier to find parts. I would like to stay true to the packard buttttttt?
Thanks Tony

Just at the beginning point of restoring my 1951 packard senior ambulance. One of the big questions is does all of the packards from 1951-end interchange parts or which models match up with my ambulance. I know there will be certain parts that are ambulance specific but otherwise???? I know I need the front right fender and all of the chrome front to back. My grill is broke. engine is a v-8 trans a3 speed on the column. the motor will turn over by hand but thats all i've tried. the floor pans in the cab, lets say were their at one point. my reg email is rianrts@yahoo.com thanks for any and all help in advance. Tony
