No dates or number on tag. May be from the previous owner Jerry M. Kill Nov 16, 1999 to Aug 16, 2018. In Ed Blend's book the Magnificent Packard Twelve of 1934 printed in 1977 the owner is listed as Frank Costa from Florida.

History of this 1934 Model 1107?

I am the current owner of a 1934 Packard 1107 five passenger coupe. I would appreciate assistance in learning the ownership history of this car. The car is covered in Ed Blends book " The magnificent Packard twelve of 1934". At that time (1977) the car 737-25 was owned by Frank Costa from Florida. The car was originally sold by the Windler Motor Sales Milwaukee WI on 4/16/34. Can any member provide information regarding ownership of other information related to this car? dlohnstad@abbnebraska.com

How do you take the chrome cap off of the 1934 V12 bumper harmonic balancer in order to service that unit? When that cap is off how do you control the spring tension in order to take it apart?

1934 Eight Transmission gear slip

My 1934 Eight slips out of high gear when coasting down hill. The April 15, 1936 service bulletin states that a new high, second sliding gear was available to solve that issue. The gear was part number 190401 with the word "front" stamped on it. Are any available? Are the other transmission gears either NOS or reproduction available?

Thanks, I have heard that there was a Packard service tool for holding up the rear of the motor. Does anyone have one that could be used, rented or purchased? Or is there a picture available so I could make one? Any help would be appreciated.

The rear motor mount is located on the transmission on the 1934 Eight. Can the rear of the motor be blocked up to remove the transmission? The bell housing and pan appear to be one unit and are made of aluminum. Does that have the necessary strength for the weight?

Re: 1934 Packard V-12 grill shell removal

Ok as suggested I removed the grill shell and radiator as a complete unit. The reason the shell cannot be removed in place is that there are 4 small bolts at the bottom of the shell that cannot be accessed while the unit is in place. Go figure.

Ok, thanks. Once on the bench any advice on how to proceed with the grill removal?
