Where did you source them from? I’m really interested in finding some for my 2dr’s

I’ve been chatting with the owner of the ‘48 in Kennewick or whichever of the tri-cities it’s in. Really nice car, the father-in-law reupholstered the interior, well done, but not true to the original. I’d take it off his hands if I didn’t have two already and I promised the girl friend that this would be the last one before I passed one on. So for now, it’s rebuild central here, continuing with this little find and a dream…

1953 Clipper 2dr for super cheap

That’s the best DTM paint out there! 👌didn’t know that they made it in clear though!

Just catching up on your great project blog and this was me yesterday…. 🤣
Also found an interesting “tag” left by the previous wrench who apparently didn’t care for the alternator bracket he was working with…

I have the beautiful winged hood ornament but no base for it. 23rd series preferred but maybe other years will work too.

And you’re saying that I couldn’t just replace the shaft itself and be right to go?

This is exactly what I’ll be trying in the morning and reply with the results. Question, would lifting the rear end help things “loosen up” more easily?
