There are two bolts pass through the body of the master cylinder into the frame rail. One of those bolts also acts as a pivot for the shifter linkage.

Remove the two bolts and the slide the master cylinder down and forward off the pedal push rod. But before you do any of this, you'll need to disconnect the brake swtich wiring and brake lines from the junction block on the front of the master cylinder.

P.S. Where are you getting a rebuild kit? Check the parts X ref as you can probably get a whole new one for about the same price as a kit from the major vendors.

Was planning on getting from Kanter since honestly I didn't even think it would be possible to find an OEM fit. But after looking them up you're right they are very close in price. I only checked the cross reference page for shoes and cylinders, didn't cross my mind to look up the master. Thanks for the heads up!

First time poster here, long-ish time lurker! I'm stuck in a couple spots getting the master cylinder off to do a rebuild. She's on jack stands so visibility is kind of limited, hoping someone has a few tips to point me in the right direction.'51 300

1. Service manual says to disconnect the push rod at the pedal. I am assuming this means where the brake pedal shaft meets the rod where the spring hooks on? That whole assembly is tucked back into part of the frame and even if it was on a lift it seems extremely difficult to get back into that cavity to disconnect all that with the limited amount of space you're given. Is there an easier way or something I'm missing?

2. Mounting bolts - I can only see the one that's attached to the gear selection, center bolt. I've felt around and cannot find anymore but this thing does not want to free up at all. Feels like I'm missing another bolt or 2. Anyone know the bolt pattern and where I should be looking?

Thanks in advance and yall have been a treasure trove of information so far!
