Thank you for the info, we will have to check for all of those things. So far all we know for sure is that we took it to a show, drove home, parked in the driveway, unloaded and within minutes there was a huge puddle underneath it. Hadn't had a problem all day or prior to that, it was like something just burst. From the quick glance we gave it the puddle appeared to be dripping from somewhere near the front passenger side tire. We will definitely look into all of those things. Let you know what we find. Thank you.

Guscha,
I guess his lucky number is 11. I did receive an e-mail this morning with a link to this thread. Perfect timing too...I had been thinking of jumping on here to see what I could find about a '56 Clipper Deluxe spewing anti freeze all over the driveway. My husband is pretty sure it's the heater core/coil.
Good luck with the puzzle, I'm off to solve my own :).
Oh, Mal...I forgive you.

Beautiful, both the car and the scenery. That last image is very pretty.

Randerson, the ceramic element, the gaskets and screen that I found at Tractor Supply Company all fit my fuel filter perfectly. I imagine you and I have the same filter.

I just put seat belts in my 56 Deluxe and I had a heck of a time finding a set to match the interior of my car which is what I wanted. I found black and tan and other more modern interior colors but I wanted them to look period since they weren't original. I found them for the best price at JCWhitney in all different lengths and styles and colors. I put the pilot style belt in my car in the dark green to match. But they have the 3 point as well, along with the mounting kits for each style. Installing them was easy and they told me a week for shipping I got them in 2 days. Also if you call in to place the order which is what I did they still honor all internet deals listed on their site.

This is what I put in my car for the backseat.
Hope this helps.

Randserson- that is a good point it is possible that originally my car had black walls instead of whitewalls but I have no real way of knowing. I personally like the whitewall look much better and that is what it had on it when I bought it. It may not be 'original' but it's original to the way that I purchased it. But you are probably right for the majority of Deluxe's having black walls.
I do want to stay as close to the side of originality as possible even though the extent of "showing" will be parking in the grass at local rallies. But with the exception of the fuel pump there's nothing that has been done on the car that prevents it from returning to it's 'original state' in 20 minutes time. Yes, it's fair to say that already the car isn't original because of the fuel pump but if I had the original one it would be wearing it.
I'm sure there may come a day where bias ply may not even be available anymore (or incredibly expensive)as radials have become such a trend. In the mean time I'd like to take advantage of maintaining the look I have always known it to have.
Talking about originality I wonder if it did come with black wall tires would it still have come with radials or would they have been black wall bias ply?

Now we're getting into what I really need to know about. What makes one bias ply tire better than another? Is there a rating system that applies like they have for other tires? I'm just surprised to see so many different price ranges for tires that appear to be the same.
