Air filter element

I'm looking for a new air filter element for the 327 oil bath. Is the element used on other American cars? If so is there a universal part number for it?

Thanks I found the correct pad on a Stude parts website. $16

I greased the shaft real good, worked the pedal and greased some more. It's better but the knock is still present as is the scrunching. Also the knock is now present at idle when I press the clutch to the floor. Guess it's time to rebuild the linkage.

I need to find a mechanical parts catalog for this car.

I see what you mean about the grease fitting, Howard. I will grease it good.

I'm not sure how it could have ended up with another pedal.

25th series clutch knocking

I noticed a knock that sounds like the engine but coming from the clutch. This is the first car I've ever driven regularly with a mechanical clutch.

It's squeaks and scrunches when you push it in but it's always done that. When it's out I can grab the pedal and pull it toward me with about an inch of free play. The pedal shakes. The new knocking sound was at first just over bumps and when the clutch shakes as the car taking off. Now the knock is there sometimes when I'm idling. Messing with the pedal when it's out doesn't help the noise unless you start to push it in.

Has anyone experienced the knocking before?

I also noticed when I went to buy a new clutch pedal pad that the pedal shape is different on this car than the other Packards. The normal textured pad wouldn't fit. This 300 has a horizontal pad with wide stripes. I thought maybe it's a commercial style but those seem to be like the standard 200 pedal.

I see. Looks like mine is here to stay. I got a car cover for it but it has no provision for the antenna. It comes with an antenna sock but I will have to find someone to see it in.

Is there a part available to cover the antenna hole on the front fender?

From what I have found the tools to rebuild my '52 Carter WGD are expensive. Is there anyone that would loan these tools?

I got a WCFB Carter 4 barrel off a '53 for my '52. I can only access the nuts from the top side. What tools are best used to get in those tight spaces? I believe they are 11/16ths
