My fifty is very different than my 48. 48 is a push and twist. The fifty must have to release the housing to get the glass out

First I checked and replaced the stoplight switch. Nothing so I grabbed my tester and I have power at the stoplight switch. Then I disconnected the lines and checked those. It didn't show I had power till I replugged them in a second them then I had one light that worked. Checked hi and lows and directionals and I have all of those. So I know it is either a bad bulb or a bad ground or wire. But for the life of me I can't figure out how to pull the bulb. I even tried to loosen the housing and that did nothing. Anyone have the heart to help that fool that I seem to be today? There is nothing on the site as I have looked.

Thanks for information. Since they did the replacement 4 or more years ago I’m pretty sure the shifting linkage is ok. Maybe I’ll just open up the damaged one and part it out. I hate having it take up space in the garage.

I have a transmission that came out of a 48 custom. The original blew and I bought a new one from Kanter or Max I don’t remember . It was installed and on it’s first test drive it blew second gear on the mechanic. So when they replaced it, they didn’t want the transmission I purchased back. Does this have any value?

Has anyone found a good vendor for an exact match for the wine vinyl door panels? I can find plain vinyl all day long but not with the blackish lines.

I have a 1950 convertible. I have a drivers door that has some up and down movement. So I am assuming that the hinges have to much wear. Will any 1950 drivers door hinges work on this car? Or do I have to find the exact match?

Thanks in advance.

1948 Packard Custom 8 seats

So this seemed like a good time to tackle the seats in my Custom 8. I've looked for fabric that would be as close to pattern as possible. I couldn't justify wool so here's my finished product. Also if you are going to try this also strip out the old wire pipping and recover that. It will be much easier and a cleaner fit. I'd say I cut it a bit close as that is all I had left for fabric.

So my question is when did Packard stuff the springs of the seats to deaden the road noise and make them more comfortable? Or is it mine had a huge mouse problem?
