Todd,
You are looking for the shifter locating ring, pictured below. Measurements on mine are: Thickness: 0.16 OD: 2.12 ID : 1.56 Gap width: 0.22 The tab on mine, as you can see, is very worn. It should just fit into the slot on the shifter. You may want to give John Ulrich a call and see if he has one. Cheers, Tom

Thanks Tom, that looks like it would do the trick. I've already sent John an e-mail but he hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I got hold of John Ulrich and he didn't have one and I also got hold of Bruce Blevins and although he was unable to supply me with the part he was able to supply me a copy of the original Packard blueprint from 1928. How cool is that?
I have asked his permission to share the drawing with you guys and if he says OK I will post here later.

Not only does Bruce have the drawing, he says this:
The Packard Motor Car Foundation is in possession of between 35,000 and 40,000 Packard blueprints. These were donated to the foundation by two individual groups. The oldest I have found is 1900 and the newest is 1957. I think I have a catalog of all the prints to make a Model F Packard from 1903 amongst them. We do not have all of the prints, but we have a lot. Here is an example:

That is great that the blueprints are there.
Couple of observations, does it say cyanide added 2-25-31, and was it made out of s-steel (stainless?)?

You might want to read this post which announced the availability of blue print copies. It's reasonably fresh news.
