Hi, I am restoring a 11th series " 710 "touring sedan in India . It's a ground up restoration. While removing all the body work we came across wood used in between the frame and body. Now there is some confusion as once we unearthed the wood. It's made up of two planks as per images attached. Secondly wouldn't wood used for such a thing be one piece especially its a touring car for more rigidity.

Could someone enlighten us ? Anyone with drawings of the wood patterns

Thank you
