finally got my glove box open

I finally got my glove box on my 36 120 open, and found quiet a bit of history. To bad there isn't hardly anything about the car's owners prior to 1980. But I found the ration sticker from the war and the original manual (1st edition 1935!). It also has an 1956 Packard accessories booklet. Another interesting item is Packard approved lubrication slip. The ink is faded out but you can still see that the mileage filled on it is 15066. I'm trying to decipher the date on it.

Very nice find. I would document it along with the thief-proof number.

Was this car a Kansas car?
Interesting that a 1956 booklet was in the glove box, contemplating their next car, 20 years later?

According to the surviving brothers of the previous owner it was bought from the original owner in bartlesville Oklahoma. The estate I bought it from was in Kansas but the car and owner lived for a while in Florida.

The 56 booklet is for accessories only.

The ration stamp is interesting and looks in very good condition. I thought they had to be attached to the car. Does it appear original and actually may have been placed on the car or was the attached one only the gas part and not the mileage coupon?

It wasn't attached to anything. It seems to be original and its in good shape. It has a 10-1-42 date on it.

Howard, I looked at the ration sticker again and it says on the back to attach it to the appropriate area on the vehicle. It also tells you to save tires on the back by not driving faster than 35 mph, have the tires inflated properly, share rides and "is this trip really necessary? "
