Hi all, I have a question that I'm having trouble figuring. I have the parts book for my 1939 Super 8 and am trying to find out if a 1938 Super 8 oil pump would work - in another words is it the same as a '39 pump? It's very confusing in my parts book.

I don't know the answer to your question with certainty. But if you're using the 1935-1941 Packard Parts List, you won't find the answer there because as noted on page 1 it only covers the 1939 Super Eight and not the 1938 Super Eight.

What Parts List did Packard publish that covers the 1937-1938 Super Eight? Can we get a copy available here? Or do we have it and I've just not seen it?
