This Curbside Classic article on the National Funeral Museum in Houston, Texas includes this 1916 Hearse and Mourner's Coach on the truck chassis, also a '38 Eight Henney flower car is on display.

These weren't as short-lived as it seems as Airstream offered a funeral coach model for several years. Not many were made but they weren't aftermarket either. Here is a photo of a 1982 that I did a VIN verification on a while back. It had limousine-like seating with the casket area side to side behind that and an area to transport and display flowers at the rear, both separately air conditioned, of course.
