1928 Packard 533 gearbox renovation

Hello friends - please help, I'm renovating a gearbox and during disassembly a part fell out (a rod with a slanted end - like in the photo) and I don't know where it came from.

I have a theory that the rod comes from the place marked with a blue arrow on the gearbox (Of course, I have the pipe fitting removed). It is the oil supply from the central lubrication pump. In my opinion, its purpose is to reduce the oil flow (to limit the excessive amount of oil to the clutch bearing). I don't know if my theory is correct. The rod doesn't fit others.

Could someone please confirm or refute my theory, or tell me where the stick is from and if there was anything else there (spring?)

thank you very much for your help
regards Libor

thanks, I've seen this sectional view before, but I don't see the rod anywhere. It would take someone who took it apart and remembers where it was. Or if anyone has photos from the renovation.
