Please, it's an Eight, not a Standard Eight. Or if you must, a "standard Eight". The Standard Eight model name was discontinued with the 9th Series.

No, it is not pressed in.

Swing the lid back and reach in with needlenose pliers and pull out the folded sheetmetal baffle. Then use a flashlight and look at the bottom and you should see a very heavy perforated steel filter plate at the very bottom which is retained by two bolts; I forget the bolt head size, maybe 1/2 inch. With a long extension and socket remove the bolts and thus the filler tube and plate. Unless you're going further with engine disassembly I'd recommend bolting the filter plate back into place to prevent anything from falling into the oil pan.

The tube should be painted black, the swinging cap nickel-plated.
