Good Morning,

I am looking on this site for a parts book for the 32 900 and can't seem to find one, Am I missing it?

I want to know if the 3 speed trans. used on the 900 is the same as the 3 speed used on the 9th. series senior cars.

Thanks, John

If you don't get access to a Light Eight parts list, Hollanders should also have the answer for you. I believe the answer to your question is yes.

As the story was told in print many years ago, initial production capacity for the new 3-speed synchro trans was limited so the decision was made to first make it standard equipment on the two new models for 1932, the Light Eight and the Twin Six. The other models were produced with either the old 4-speed non-synchro unit or the new 4-speed synchro unit until production of the 3-speed reached sufficient volume to satisfy demand across all 4 car lines. I don't know how accurate this is but observations of surviving cars seems to substantiate it.

I believe the referenced article in The Cormorant was by Jack Triplet, published back in the 70s or early 80s.
