Mounting Holes?

Can anyone tell me what these holes are for in the boot area of my convertible. (That is what we refer to the area the top drops into behind the front seat.) Before disassembly they were covered by a trim piece of card material similar to the door panels. Is it for an accessory? Curious.
Thanks.
Bob J.
