Packard used the original Goddess of Speed from 1926-37.

In 1937-39 they changed to a new design by Werner Gubitz.

Can anyone tell me what the changes were in '37-39 versions?

It appears the one up to 37 has an upturned face and a space between her legs while the post 37 is forward facing and the leg area is solid.

When the glass was added, the head became a separate piece that acted as a nut to retain the glass by way of a long screw up into it through from the bottom. Because of that, with the body, head and glass, it was a three-piece design (excluding pads for the glass and the hardware) when prior it was probably one piece. The base, of course, was separate.

The attached is a Goddess of Speed synopsis from the Beverly Kimes Packard History. There are additional pages for the 1940+ glass wing types.

Better yet, get the book and read the whole mascot type/history appendix:ebay.com/itm/135694858949?_skw=beverly

If you are coming to the KC National Meet this week, stop by my booth and I'll show you some specific features.
