Excepting the 12th series "120", the 11th and 12th series Eight and Super Eight motors are both 0.004 inlet and 0.006 exhaust (warm). I believe the "120" is 0.007 and 0.009.

Tappet adjustment could cause a LEAN condition. I really don;t know how tappet adjustemtn, no matter how far out in any direction, would ever cause a rich condition.
