Hello All:

The 5th annual Cars-R-Stars show at the Packard Proving Grounds is less than a month away.

This is the largest, single-day fundraiser for the PPG. The show is hosted by the Packard Motor Car Foundation, Motor City Packards and the Veteran Motor Car Club - Detroit.

This year will feature historic commercial vehicles, including delivery, emergency, military and professional vehicles from every era as well as a wide variety of show car classes. There is also a large swap meet area, with both indoors and outdoors spaces available. Food trucks, Stroh's Ice Cream and Metro Beverages will be available at the picnic area.

Admission is $5, kids under the age of 12 are free.

Cars-R-Stars @ the PPG is this next Sunday. Last year we had 375 cars show up and had a huge swap meet area going on.

The gates open up at 8:00 AM for visitors and we are prepared for a large turnout. Admission is $5 with kids under 12 FREE.

So who is planning on attending??

It was a very good day, even with a bit-o-precipitation! A decent showing of cars, lots of foot traffic and the weather cleared up around noon. The featured class, Commercial Vehicles, was quite a sight to see!

What is the "64" picture about?

The "64" is one of the few remaining marker tags imbedded in the remaining 458 feet of the test track.

When the other parts of the track were demo'ed several years ago to make way for a subdivision our volunteers scoured the broken concrete slabs looking for other track tags. Thankfully, we have a small collection of them.

Ok, so the early rain held down attendance for both cars and visitors, but once the rain cleared up at about 12:30 the folks started turning out. We have some very loyal followers for this show and I wish more of you were close enough to visit us.
