Anyone thinking original tires take note: I "saved" the '49 from a field nearly 10 years ago now, and I had to put a couple used tires on it to move around the garage. It's been up on dollies for a long time now, since I took the motor and trans out (5 years? and zero miles) waiting on me to quit working on the other car. The rubber and cords were so deteriorated, they literally cracked apart. Based on it's size, it's probably >30 - <50 years old. The good news: 15"ers are getting scarce and the tire guy sold me a no name brand new one for $50. He only had one. I dare say it won't see many miles at this rate!.
