Gary; I have no gasket on my 48, run a large flat file over the contact surface to clean it and make sure there are no burs on the surface. It's best not to tighten the three bolts till the manifolds are somewhat tight. They make a gasket for your application if you have leaks.

Thanks Dell. There was no leak between the 2 manifolds. Must have been good mnachining, because I couldn't find any remnants of a gasket there, and I am pretty sure these have never been apart. The gaskets to the block needed replacing, and being RHD it mneans more skin off the knuckles.
