And... meanwhile again, relatives and family friend, boxer Joe Louis, were across town opening the brand new Moulin Rouge.... which made the cover of LIFE magazine that year. There were more than a few Packards parked in the lot there too!

Notice the suits and ties on the men? And dresses and heels on the ladies? Las Vegas was a very, very different town back then.
