Rear U-Joint Clips

Can someone measure the thickness of their rear U-joint cup clips. This would be the clips of the differential side of the joint. When I measure the half-C clip style ones that came on mine, I am getting a reading of .060". Just curious if the original Packard "U" style clips with the bend over tabs are the same thickness.

0.10" for the Senior ones.
As far as I know the Junior ones are the same thickness.

Thanks for the info. I am going to pull one of the bearing caps back off so I can measure the actual clip groove then I will know exactly what the heck I am working with.

My car must have had a storied life, and with many tales still waiting to be told.

Pulled one of the bearing caps off and measured the clip grove. Looks to be .080".

With the .060" clips in place there is a total of .032" of side to side play on the joint. Looks like someone just jammed in whatever clips they had laying around. Jim is medevacing me some larger clips to resolve the issue. Thanks Jim!

Also this shows that the rear joint was replaced at some point, and this aftermarket joint is not compatible with the .10" packard U-Joint clips.
