My 55 Pat does a wedding

I and my Pat had the pleasure today of being the "driver and limo" for two good friends who got married. They loved being driven around and riding in the roomy back seat of my 55 Pat. This was a small private wedding in Las Vegas at a little, beautiful park with a lake near downtown. After the wedding I drove them to the Golden Nugget Casino Resort for a noon-ish wedding reception lunch. Of course the valet parked Pat out front for all to see. Pat and I drove the newlyweds back to their house after lunch reception and then drove back to Pahump. Not a hiccup from Pat the entire day. An excellent day all around.

Congrats to the newlyweds. FWIW... 4 doors may not be "COOL" but they sure are easier to get in and out of the back seat. I have a '55 400 and it is really hard for my friends to get in and out of the back seat. Heck, when I clean the back window, I have a hard time getting out of the car. I have to power the front seat all the way forward to give the back seat occupants foot room to get out. Even then, when your car is drawing attention because of its beauty, my rear seat passengers are backing out of the car. (not beautiful). I would like to have a '55 Patrician just for the drive with guest, up the Oregon coast with all the turn outs for Kodak moments. I think Packard did a really good job of of incorporating the rear doors with the overall body lines.

Got my second one coming up in a couple of weeks. happened to ask a very special old friend if his daughter would like use of the car and to my amazement it has become a centerpiece of the ceremony.

The bride's father will bring her to an outdoor wedding on top of a hill in the car.

Should I have the interior shampooed?

When two men ride the same horse, one has to be in the back...

Concur with Brian's post about cleaning rear of my 400. I only do such cleaning when alone, as I don't wish to emotionally scar anyone while removing myself. There are times I wish I had a Patrician too.

Have done many a wedding and it is always fun. It is even better if you can come up with a chauffers uniform. I did.

Hi

Great of you to do that for them, they'll always remember your kindness and the old Packard car they rode in, something to tell their kids. Positive exposure at events like this for Packards can only help not only our preferred make but all collector cars in general.

Proud 1953 Clipper Deluxe owner. Thinking about my next Packard, want a Clipper Deluxe Eight, manual shift with overdrive.
