What spares do you always have with you?

I'm going on a long tour (500-600 miles) in a few weeks and am thinking I should take a few spare parts. So far, a water pump seems like a good idea (ordered) and a fuel pump as well (got any suggestions for a vendor; I have no extra core).

What else do you take? Fluids? Parts? Tools? MREs?

I think I get the idea. Most of the tools and parts will fit in the parts car I'll be towing.

Actually, thank you for an informative thread.

Do any of you travel bare? Talking v-8s here, if that makes any difference......

Traveling bare????? I suppose it depends on your resources and experiences at traveling in something that would be construed as less than a new or very late model low mileage vehicle.

Quite frankly, even if i were in a brand new car and had just won the Power Ball Jack Pot i would still carry at least some very basic spares. My TIME is too valuable to ass around with road side service providers, towing and waiting for some repair shop to do alot more work and sell me alot more parts than i need. If i can fix it myself rite there on the side of the road in 15 minutes to maybe 1 hour why would i want to stand around waiting for someone else to show up to do it????

And don't forget the GPS and a nice comfy pillow, and a teddy bear too.
