anyone know where you can get the grommets for the headliner bows

55-56 400,,4 doors are different

Proper grommets seem to be NA. None of the modern grommets that fit the body hole have a small enough ID for the bow to fit snugly.. One poster mentioned that he cut the metal end off tire valve stems and found the rubber end to be a very good substitute. Maybe you can get some old stems from a tire place.

didn't think of that, I made some with standard grommets, with another rubber flat piece, with a 1/4 inch hole, it works,

but , does not support end of rod that good,

the hole is 11/16ths, I was at autozone today, and there was a PVC grommet that had that taper end on it, but, inside hole to big, Toyota,

looks like the tire valve stems are the way to go, they are 3/4" OD, same valve stem used for Packard rims, the large ones,

cut 4 going to try them tomorrow, 6-24-2016
