Look what I just bought! It is a VINTAGE ORIGINAL patent for a way to cool your automobile motor while at the same time provide heat to you inside the cab: "One of the objects of the invention is to provide a motor vehicle having a water cooled motor, with a body heating device connected to the motor cooling system so that some of the heated water from the motor water jackets will flow through the body heating device to thereby heat the body and at the same time to assist in cooling the motor."
The inventor of record is Raymond M Anderson of Detroit, Michigan assignor to PACKARD motor car company.
This is an original patent application that was rescued from dumpsters in Washington DC when the patent office went digital. This one has an identification sticker on the front page showing its classification. This was an official document and is printed on a softer type paper. Most of the original patents we have come across are on a thicker cardstock, but this one is on a softer paper. There is some softening and fraying along some edges--all visible. Halfway across the top there is a short edge tear, about .25 inches long. As you can see, it has some yellowing and soiling from handling, but it is in mostly good shape. Is THIS document the reason why ALL cars now have heat!!!?
I believe that it relates to the girl that you were taking somewhere. If she was "hot" in winter, you never had an issue with foggy windows and therefore never needed additional heating. On the other hand, on a hot day, you would take out a "cool" girl. My vehicle never ran "hot" on these days. I dunno but maybe vehicle manufacturers are trying to pre-judge our choice of "gals" with their air-cond options????????? just my thoughts. PT
