So I found Bob Drake is having a clearance on his roof mount antennas at $70.00, so I picked one up and it looks like it will work. You tell me, see the pictures below. The first picture has my old antenna with the new one.

As I recall the thing that prevents non Packard antennas from direct interchange is the length of the operating stem and the threaded portion of the mounting bushing. Some are too short in being able to reach the inner panel on the Packard. If the one you bought is the same length or at least long enough that it bolts thru the thick roof and the knob shaft extends past the headliner then it is a great buy. If not, perhaps parts could be swapped between the two or extensions could be figured out to make it work. If it is too long that is another matter.
