Going to be in the area in the next couple of days? We have some wonderful events planned for the 90th Anniversary of the opening of the Packard Proving Grounds.

Sunday, June 10 is the very popular "Cars-R-Stars" show. Now in our 9th year we expect 300+ cars on the show field and over 3,000 visitors that day. Forecast calls for temps in the high 70s and no chance of rain. Huge swap meet area and several food trucks.

Thursday, June 14 is the exact day of the birthday of the PPG. The calendar of June 1928 is the very same as June 2018. We're hosting a Gala Fundraising Dinner with a strolling dinner, vintage fashion show and a short presentation on the world's record setting run of Leon Duray and his Miller Special race car. On opening day in 1928 Duray ran the 2.5 oval at 148.174 mph making the PPG the world's fastest closed-course track. That record stood until June of 1954 - 26 years!

To mark this occasion the PPG has borrowed Leon Duray's car from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. If you visit before mid-August you will see his car back at the PPG for the first time in 90 years.

As a fundraiser we've been authorized by famed illustrator, David Kimble, to reproduce his 1983 cutaway rendering of the Miller 91 race car as a poster. The size is 32.5" X 19.25" and printed on heavy-duty poster stock. These posters will be for sale in our gift shop at $20 at pick up only. If you want to order one, then please be patient until we post them on eBay within a week or so. All proceeds go to restore and preserve the Packard Proving Grounds.
