Guscha, Thanks for posting this. Significant are the dealer numbers cited in the second to last paragraph: 1,100 total, 700 which were dualed with Studebaker.

In any dualed makes operation, most of the sales effort was directed toward the better-selling make unless the management directed special efforts to promote the other one. A mere 400 Packard-exclusive dealers was far too few for adequate market coverage.
