Thanks, I was able to go over this with the installer(to assure myself he knew) and he did and explained, just like you did how the pieces worked. I felt much better that I knew somewhat about how the job should be done. This site has saved me a lot of dollars and a lot of time over the past three years. I really appreciate all the Packard owners on this site for their help.

Final installation. Insulation installed like Kevin used on his Clipper. So far today I am looking for flaws and touch ups that will be needed. I did not have the light switch and rear light cover installed.

Congratulations on another step forward. Would you post a photo of the area where those retainers were located. I'm curious how the headliner is positioned or how far it extends so it can use the long leg of the retainer running down the side of the window.

The down piece extends to below the side window trim. A very rudimentary drawing attached.
