Im a big believer in tranny coolers, so as of yesterday, ive installed the biggest tranny cooler i could find.

a fluid change showed no metal fragments or friction material and the fluid looked like it was ready for a change, but not unhealthy.

Shame on me, but i did not drop the pan. i didnt have a new pan gasket or any gasket that may be required for the tube. a weekends test riding should hopefully indicate no more problems, but if there are, i will drop the pan.

I am assumuming it is 56 T'Ultra. Does the oil pan currently leak????

ALSO, based on your observations i highly recommend removing the pan and cleaning the filter. The filter is reusable.

No gasket is required for the filler tube, it's a flared fitting.

NO leaks !!!???? Amazing. When u remove the pan please pay close attention to the OLD EXISTING gasket. Please describe what u find. Is there RTV cement on it???? How thick is the OLD gasket measured with micrometer. What MATERIAL is the gasket.

Is there only bolts that hold the pan in place or are there anykind of washers or reenforcement plates between pan and bolt heads.
