Thanks to all who replied. I agree some Packard Specialist's costs are sky high - but Eh! it is a niche market, well over here it is anyways !

Having now seen my car and the parts we have, and others I've collected I think we will have enough bits inc. the dreaded adjuster screws to reassemble and get things back on track.

What happened with my car was that at the first restoration in Rhodesia in 1968 the then owner FIXED the headlights into the buckets as he had either never had or indeed he lost the adjusting screws etc.

I have now found over here in the UK four adjusters and the captive nuts (from a 1948 Series car which is being converted to a "Special" alloy bodied Roadster !!) these are now in the process of being fitted along with all the other parts to complete the headlamps correctly to my car.
