A piece of good advice to add to your list is, after you remove the bowl cover, DON'T turn the bowl upside without carefully observing; some carbs use steel balls in the base of passages which act as check-valves - and not all of them have retainers or are staked to prevent them from falling out. Normally there is a check valve in the base of the accelerator pump chamber, and sometimes also on the accelerator pump outlet jets - OBSERVE CAREFULLY.
