Is it most probable that the car inquestion, has in reality been eqipped with a 352 engine?

I'd say it's almost certain, unless someone comes up with some factory documentation to the contrary. What I find interesting is that they got a better sprint time with less horsepower and a taller (3.07) rear axle than the Clipper that Autocar tested. Perhaps a difference in which range of the Twin Ultramatic the test drivers used.

Further, in one of the illustrations I think I can read "Custom" on the dash. With a 352 engine you will then have 275 HP instead of the stated 225.

Swiss "Automobil Revue", a well-respected publication, did not mention a 320 option in their '56 report on Packards or in their annual catalogue for the Geneva auto show.

I used to own a '56 Clipper Deluxe that was sold by the official Packard importers when new. It had the original 352 engine, T-U with lever, and T-L.

BTW: Clippers were listed as Packards, not as a make of it's own.
