Some years ago did a replica of the 53 Clipper Club sedan that Cecil Hayes raced in AAA sanctioned stock car races in 53. The owner had me warm it up a bit with a cam by Crane, porting, relieving and the senior 4bbl setup. Oh, and a cutout exiting behind the front wheel. Of course none of that would have been allowed in stock car racing at the time, but the whole project was for fun anyway. That car would break loose even after it was rolling if you floored it in first. Great fun.

My own racecar replica will give a nice little chirp off the line even with the gearstart Ultra and 3.23 rear. Of course, the tires are not very wide!
