the trans lines go right where you number 8 tube comes through. so i believe rerouting would be necessary. no big deal. trans lines draft tube

Craig,
That's some valuable 'real estate' you are planning on moving through. Here are a few pics from the lower passenger side area on my 400. These are from my mock-up related to the installation of the full flow filter.

I'm planning on it for my Panther. One thing about flexible oil lines, one can put them darn near anywhere. BTW, nice install of the full flow conversion on your 400. But I think you mentioned before that you wouldn't be putting headers on it. Craig

Good news on the metal parts supply side today. I made contact with one of my old parts suppliers and some of the more odd-ball parts (including possibly header flanges for 1955-56 Packard V-8) may be available from him.
I'll let everyone know how this works out because parts from a commercial supplier using existing tooling is cheaper than one-offs from a machine shop. Craig

Weather delay (Severe Heat)

There won't be any work or posts on the headers for at least another week. As many of you know from weather reports, it is really hot here in the SouthWest, particularly Southern NV. Since the center of Death Valley, CA is only about 20 miles from here (Pahrump), we are getting 110F+ max temps, even being 2800ft higher in elevation (Death Valley is below sea level). Right now it's 111F (1230PM) and is predicted to go to 115F today. The problem is that by 0800 it's already 90F and my garage/shop is not insulated and my portable swamp cooler barely makes a dent in the ambient temp, so there's no time of day or night where is reasonable to work out there. I'm hunkered down in the A/C house watching tapes/DVDs of old movies instead.
I'll keep you posted. Craig
