Hi Don

Thanks for checking that '47 seven passenger sedan out for us, you've completed the other portion of my purpose for posting these CL findings.

It's my hope that others will do the same when Packards come to their attention that are nearby their homes whether they have any interest in purchasing them or not. If more good potential restorers/conservators are able to see details of what's available, perhaps the result will be more will act and take on more Packards to be saved from oblivion.

Steve

Don't know what is going on in Amhurst Junction....but that car was available (presumably same outfit) when I was looking for mine three plus years ago. Story was that it was a funeral home car.....

this 39 modified coupe won't sell but the reason is obvious:

This 37 coupe just started to pop up in the last few weeks:

Apparently the guy in St Louis got it sold to Buffalo, but it looks like he's not happy with it either:

Needs work but sure a realistic price: 37 touring sedan

I talked to the man in Louisville with the 37 and he told me that the grill is gone and not just of the car, the interior is also missing, and it has the original 6 cylinder engine still in it. He also said that I'd need to put it on a different frame. Apparently the frame is rotted. He is not too far from me so I may take a look at it just to be sure but he really sounds like he knows what he is talking about. Gene

What a terrible interior. Gold fenders, really?

I agree with you, BDC. But considering what was done to the rest of the car, the upholstering could be a lot worse.

I am intrigued by the 1937 Super Eight in Los Angeles. That car looks really complete, with the exception of the hood ornament and dual sidemounts. Restored that car would be a knockout! I think his price for a car of this quality and rarity is most reasonable.

Wish I had the money to go after it ...

You can make a lot of really neat things from the parts left over after you rebuild your engine ...

That super 8 also needs a roof insert and if its been exposed to the elements than the wood might need some work.
