Coil?

In looking at the parts x-ref for a coil for my '50 288 Standard Eight, it lists a Echlin IC-7 for Autolite systems and IC-9 for Delco systems. Napa says that the IC-9 is no longer available. What could be the difference and will the IC-7 work with my Delco system?

I then called Advanced auto parts and they looked it up by Make/Model and said they had one in stock, but when they cross-referenced the Echlin IC-9, the results wes one at 3 times the cost and they would have to special order it.

Many thanks in advance
