When I last drove the 120 about five years ago I seem to remember the fuel gauge was not accurate/consistent.
Now, tank is out of car and using ohmmeter between tank & the sending unit terminal show continuity, I have moved the float and no change. Per the shop manual the sending unit needs replaced .

Can it be repaired or do I need to go to Merritt, Kanter or E-bay ?

Any help or ideas are appreciated.

Generally they can be repaired, plenty of guys out there that do this work; one that I've heard consistently recommended is John Wolf, he's been at this type of work for many years. He's a regular advertiser in Hemmings for this service, if no one beats me to it I'll look up his contact info later and add to this post if you can't find it yourself.
